From Usenet: From the man-page, _groff_ seems to be able to output in pcl (as well
as postscript and various screen oriented modes). Some programs (man)
use groff. I think there's a dvilj which converts TeX .dvi files to
pcl for direct printing. So some utilities do exist.

How to print to a printer on a remote Linux system:
-
Read one of the HOWTOs or FAQs above to learn how to set up a local queue for sending print jobs to a remote system.
-
Install the "rlpr" program (eg from Sunsite). Print using "rlpr -Hrrr -Pqqq file-to-be-printed",
where rrr is the remote host and qqq is a print queue on that host.
